What Are We Looking For
Our in-house design team is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our business in our office in Portsmouth to assist in the delivery of water treatment solutions across England. You will take on a leading role in aspects of projects from scoping and detailed design right through to implementation, ensuring compliance with Client Specifications and current regulatory standards, with a strong focus low on carbon solutions.
Some of your key duties include:

• Oversee design aspects of projects from inception to implantation.
• Ensure compliance with Client specification and current regulatory standards.
• Develop design deliverables.
• Complete checking and approval processes.
• Arrange procurement of goods and services.
• Prepare work scope estimates/quotations.
• Assemble contract works information documents.
• Consider project health and safety, quality and environmental matters.
• Liaise with all key stakeholders for the projects.
• Implement project change control and programme requirements.
• Take responsibility as Design Lead on allocated projects.

What do you need?

• Mechanical design engineering experience within municipal water/wastewater is highly desirable.
• Demonstrable experience in process engineering or a similar industry environment.
• Experience of working in a multidiscipline design team.
• Design management experience is highly desirable.
• Programme/financial management is highly desirable.
• Experience of working at all design stages, from optioneering/FEED through to construction support and As-Built is highly desirable.
• Experience of plant commissioning and/or plant operation is preferrable.
• Chartered engineer with a relevant professional body is preferrable.
• Possess the ability to work on multiple projects consecutively.
