A leading UK engineering organisation is seeking an experienced

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

to join their innovative design team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of complex, high-performance mechanical systems and components used in advanced technical applications.

The role would suit an engineer with deep technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving ability, and a passion for delivering robust, precision-engineered solutions. You'll be a key part of a multi-disciplinary team, helping to turn ambitious concepts into production-ready designs that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities



Lead the mechanical design of components, assemblies, and systems from concept through to production.

Create and manage 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and supporting documentation for manufacturing and testing.

Conduct and interpret engineering analyses such as stress, thermal, tolerance, and FEA to validate design performance.

Collaborate closely with internal teams including manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and testing to ensure seamless product delivery.

Apply principles of Design for Manufacture (DFM) to create efficient, cost-effective, and production-ready designs.

Research and evaluate new materials, technologies, and processes to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Support prototype build, testing, and troubleshooting activities.

Maintain compliance with relevant engineering standards and customer specifications.

What We're Looking For



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

7+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering within a precision, regulated, or high-technology environment.

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or equivalent).

Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and mechanical systems.

Practical, hands-on experience with prototyping and testing.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Pay: 45,000.00-55,000.00 per year
