Role Overview

We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design projects from concept through production. You'll create robust, cost-effective solutions for advanced RF and electronic systems, ensuring compliance with environmental requirements such as thermal management, IP ratings, and MIL-STD. Beyond design, you'll mentor junior engineers, champion innovation, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver world-class products. Your role will centre on supporting our Hook facility. This will include regular travel in the early stages, reducing as the position develops.

Key Accountabilities

Own mechanical design from concept to production Apply Design for Manufacture principles for cost-effective solutions Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and external partners Drive innovation in manufacturing methods and processes Prepare detailed drawings and technical documentation to industry standards

Our ideal candidate

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience Strong background in mechanical design Proficiency in CAD and environmental design requirements Excellent communication and project management skills Experience with full product lifecycle and multidisciplinary integration

Location:

Hybrid working is available for this role with travel between our

R&D studio in

Rickmansworth Hertfordshire, WD3 1RT

and our other sites across the UK.
