Senior Mechanical Estimator
Location: Surrey / London
Salary: 60,000 - 80,000 DOE

The Company
A well-established, family-owned Mechanical Building Services contractor delivering pure mechanical packages up to 6m+. The business operates across commercial office fit-outs (CAT A & CAT B) as well as healthcare, leisure, retail, heritage, and specialist environments, with a strong and growing order book.
The Role
An experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator is required to take ownership of mechanical-only tenders, producing accurate, competitive pricing across HVAC, plumbing, public health, and associated systems. This role suits a technically strong estimator who can price from first principles and contribute to winning work.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed mechanical tenders ranging from 100k to 6m+
Carry out full quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications (AutoCAD / Revit)
Build accurate rates from first principles (labour, plant, materials, subcontractors)
Source, analyse, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations
Price mechanical systems including HVAC, pipework, ductwork, AHUs, chillers, boilers, pumps, valves, insulation, and BMS controls
Produce BOQs, cost plans, budgets, and value engineering options
Support bid submissions, technical clarifications, and client meetings
Attend site surveys when required to validate tender information
Identify commercial risks and opportunities and report accordingly
Essential Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Estimator / Senior Mechanical Estimator
Strong background in mechanical building services contracting
Proven experience pricing pure mechanical packages
Solid technical knowledge of HVAC, heating, ventilation, plumbing, and public health systems
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
Strong commercial awareness and numerical skills
Confident communicator, both internally and client-facing
Experience using estimating software (Conquest, Trimble, Estimation, Cymap or similar)
Desirable
Experience working on CAT A / CAT B fit-out projects
HNC / HND / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
