The role, Senior Mechanical Fitter/Machinist



The Senior Mechanical Fitter/Machinist reports to the Production Leads who supports the supervision, coordination, and development of the manufacturing production team. This enables the successful execution of workloads, tasks, and projects to meet the production requirements of the business unit. Also, participating in daily 'Welcome to Work' Meeting to review and feed into the visual managment of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity, and People objectives to support the requirements of the production function.

What you will be responsible for:



Work to ensure resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards.

Follow defined manufacturing procedures, processes, and working instructions whilst complying with quality and design requirements.

Ensure full adherence to 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) practices at all times.

Escalate safety and quality concerns to Production Leads.

Support incident, accident, and non-conformity problem-solving investigations and associated reporting and action closure.

Communicate the day-to-day targets and responsibilities to other members of the team, ensuring achievement of production throughput against stated capacity and productivity targets.

Awareness of Business Unit Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from the strategic deployment plan such that each employee is aware of expectations and deliverables.

Monitor and maintain all safety and production equipment (including PPE) and tooling.

Support those conducting risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.

Responsible for the product and process training and the development of shop floor production staff.

Responsible for daily management of yourself and other less senior members of the team to achieve operational success.

Manage time and attendance and ensure compliance with company procedures.

Consistently promote high standards through personal example. Each empolyee should understand the standards and behaviours expected of them.

Participation in the definition of processes/procedures/controls, relevant to team activities, with support functions.

Provide support and input to continuous improvement activities within the production team.

Maintain and monitor local production visual management systems reporting updates daily to the Production Leads.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 33,000.00-36,000.00 per year
