Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lindholme, a Category C male adult prison based in Doncaster, with operational capacity of around 900. Working in a well established team who have good relationships with the prison, additional training in triage and assessment, self harm and trauma, so lots of options for development, on-site gym, onsite secure parking.
Hours
37.5 hours a week, working Monday to Friday 8-4pm with 1 shift of 8-6pm shift once a week. Working one weekend a month, 8-6pm but with two days off the following week.
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to 48741 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients' mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
  • Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient's care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Qualifications
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse or LD - NMC registered
  • Lots of crisis and trauma work so experience of working in an acute setting would be ideal
  • Psychosocial interventions around trauma
  • Experience of working within mental health settings, developing knowledge and understanding of this patient group
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
