We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Thameside, a

category

B

Prison located in Greenwich, South-East London.

In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

Hours

Monday to Sunday - 8.00 to 18.00



You will be working 4 days a week, 9.5 hrs per day and be expected to work some weekends.

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to

53,172

per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will


Be responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients' mental health needs. Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan. Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required. Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.

Requirements

NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse Experience of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working A non-judgmental and compassionate approach Understanding of mental health policy including clinical governance and the quality and outcomes framework, along with national standards such as NICE

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
