Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a relatively new team on a fixed term basis. The Therapeutic Interventions for Distressing unusual Experiences Service (TIDES) is a team working therapeutically with young people across Norfolk & Waveney which aims to help young people at risk of developing psychosis who are experiencing an at-risk mental state.

Your choice of base could be Norwich, Great Yarmouth, or King's Lynn. However you would be expected to work flexibly between bases in Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Kings Lynn, and home.

We are accepting those with core professions from: mental health nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers. (You will require an up-to date registration).

We are a supported team currently made up of clinical psychology, systemic family therapy, cognitive behavioural therapists, mental health practitioners, support workers and a vocational worker, all of whom are from a variety of professional backgrounds. Our team will be offering young people evidence-based interventions such as psychoeducational work, individual CBT and family therapeutic work aimed at helping our young people and their families to manage their unusual experiences. TIDES practitioners work with small manageable caseloads and hold an integrated approach to the care we provide.

Phone calls, teams calls or visits to meet the team and manager are welcomed and encouraged.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the care coordination of a caseload of people, working alongside the current MDT to deliver NICE concordant care.

When you join us, you can expect a thorough induction and ongoing support.

You'll be joining a team with extensive experience of working in a psychosis pathway, and we are passionate about helping our growing team to develop their skills and understanding in this area through ongoing CPD . You will be joining a supportive environment, with regular clinical team meetings, reflective practice and opportunities to work with the wider MDT, as well as working independently.

The ideal candidate will be a team player, have a good interpersonal skill, is flexible in their approach, and is enthusiastic about working with young people and young adults, to help live the lives they want to.
