Senior Mh Practitioner Nurse Melksham

Melksham, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

With a national drive to improve mental health and wellbeing services for children and young people, there's never been a more important time to join Oxford Health CAMHS.

We're seeking suitably qualified Mental Health Nurses, Learning Disability Nurses, Occupational Therapists or Social Workers to join our Crisis and Home Treatment Service (CAHTS). This BSW-wide service offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you'll carry out initial assessments and deliver time-limited interventions for young people in crisis. Your work will focus on early support and prevention, aiming to reduce the need for longer-term mental health care.

The CAHTS team provides a high-quality, responsive service for children, young people and families facing emotional and mental health difficulties . You'll also be involved in our ongoing service development, based on the i-Thrive model, ensuring support is timely, appropriate, and delivered by skilled professionals.

Liaison and collaboration are key - you'll work closely with CAMHS colleagues, Children's Services, Social Care, Education, and other agencies to ensure holistic and effective care.

Join us and help shape the future of children's mental health in our community.

We will offer you a variety of training including Positive Behaviour Support, AMBIT, DBT coping skills, and Family Based Therapy for Eating Disorders. There will also be the opportunity for further training based around individual learning needs.

You will offer emotional support to adolescents and/or their parents who are in mental health crisis or are being supported to leave psychiatric inpatient care.

The CAHTS operates Monday to Fridays, and on a rota basis on Saturdays and Sundays and BH, covering the hours of 10am -6pm. The service development plan is to work a flexible week covering shift across the hours of 8am - 8pm Monday - Friday. There is also an expectation that you will support the out of hours core team rota.

This is an opportunity to join a very supportive team. Clinical supervision and professional development are priorities for the service and preceptorship is supported.

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical, mental health and social care for people of all ages across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset.

Our services are delivered at community bases, hospitals, clinics and people's homes, delivering care as close to home as possible

At Oxford Health we offer a wide range of benefits designed to support your career and wellbeing. These include:
