We are recruiting a Senior Mill Operator to join our team based in Lancaster.
This is not a 9am - 5pm job and will only suit someone who has flexibility to work across days, weekends and 24-hour shifts. The Paper Mill operates 24 hours a day 7 days per week 365 days per year. This role requires the successful candidate to work a rotating shift pattern based on an 8-week cycle
Job Opportunity
To maintain the productive status of the Paper Machine, Rewinder, Converting Line & Packaging line ensuring efficient operation with minimum wastage in accordance with customer specifications and the paper machine output. To maintain a high standard of housekeeping. To work in accordance with all Health and Safety procedures and standards
Production Operative Duties
To operate the machinery to a high standard of safety and good housekeeping.
Identify issues with quality, report in logs and communicate to the team members
Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments. Carry out the management of risks effectively and efficiently
Assist in optimising processes to get the best results possible.
To identify faults and make suggestions for remedy.
To deputise for the team leader in their absence.
Adhering to quality, health, and safety procedures and regulations.
Troubleshooting day to day issues.

NVQ Level 2 which includes Math's, English and IT or equivalent
Excellent Problem-Solving ability

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
A current Fork Lift Truck License
