Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Motor Mechanic to oversee and perform maintenance and repair of our inhouse vehicles as well as customer's vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a number of years as a trained mechanic working within the motor trade. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to be involved in a new startup which will support our our own drivers and new customers alike. The candidate will also be involved in the new business setup and hiring process.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Lead maintenance activities, prioritising safety and efficiency standards across all operations. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues promptly and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime. Oversee the routine servicing and preventative maintenance schedules for vehicles and machinery. Assist in the installation, modification, and upgrade of mechanical systems as required. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics, maintenance staff and drivers. Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Mechanic with a minimum of five years in motor trade. Extensive knowledge of entire motor trade, with experience in vans a bonus. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently under pressure. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting. Leadership qualities with experience mentoring or supervising team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This position is integral to maintaining our operational excellence through expert mechanical oversight and leadership.
