There's never been a better time to join UHSussex. Our Trust has recently had a 420 million redevelopment of the Brighton Campus. This includes a new Imaging department with bi-plane Neuro-angiography and 3 Tesla and intra-operative MRI. We are a modern department who strive for quality. We are the regional Trauma and Stroke centre with mechanical thrombectomy and our service reflects the challenges this brings with it.
This position would be ideal for any radiographer who holds a strong interest in neurological imaging and would like to develop a strong role in MRI. It is a 50/50 split between MRI and Neuro rotation spending solid time in each.
Previous experience in MRI and Neuro-angio would be ideal but is not a necessity as our training programmes are very comprehensive.
You will implement advanced imaging techniques within this niche service, developing interventional angiography skills . This will involve the team participating in advanced interventional treatments such as aneurysm and AVM treatment, and exciting stroke management such as mechanical thrombectomy.
Most importantly we are looking for someone with NHS experience who is eager to join our developing team and someone who is as passionate as we are about the service that we deliver.
The radiographer will be expected to work in Neuroangiography, Interventional Radiology (IR), MRI, and CT on the Royal Sussex County Hospital site.
Will be an experienced HCPC registered radiographer able to undertake a wide range of clinical duties to provide the highest quality radiological images at all times to assist patient diagnosis and treatment, supporting all colleagues to do the same.
To support the Superintendent radiographers with the day to day running of the department is smoothly co-ordinated whilst delivering a high quality patient experience.
Ensure departmental adherence to x-ray regulations (IR(ME)R, IR17), MHRA MRI safety guidelines and UHSx policy guidelines/protocols.
In addition to your normal core hours, participation in the out of hour's rota is necessary. This will include some weekend and night shift work and on-calls from home.
You will be a senior influence within the department. You will be working throughout the Imaging department which includes a state of the art bi-plane Neuro angiography suite, two 1.5T Philips Ambition X MRI scanners, one 1.5T Siemens Aera MRI scanner, one 3.0T Philips Elition X, 5 CT scanners including a dedicated A&E CT. This will expand to include Philips intra-operative MRI in the future.
