The Senior Naval Architect will conduct hydrodynamic analyses and simulations of marine operations. Your key areas of focus may include evaluating floating structures and performing studies related to stability, vessel motion, mooring systems, dynamic lift, and cable installation.

What will you be doing?



Perform engineering analyses of floating structures across all Longitude business sectors, encompassing areas such as stability, vessel motions, mooring systems, dynamic lift, and cable installation. Manage assigned projects in terms of safety, quality, schedule, and resources. Communicate directly with the customer, their engineering teams and end clients to ensure project demands are met. Perform day-to-day client management activities with existing clients through established relationships. Support business development activities to promote Longitude and develop new clients. Support and undertake proposal and tendering activities for new business. Support discipline head to identify personal and team's training requirements to develop technical competence in accordance with Longitude's needs. Develop existing and new technical competencies in alignment with Longitude's needs. Undertake technical consultancy work as required. Supervise of junior engineers and Naval Architects.

What are we looking for?




Ideally, you will have proven experience of conducting hydrodynamic analysis and performing stability, vessel motions, mooring systems, dynamic lift, and cable installation studies. More specifically, we are looking for the following:

Educated to bachelor's degree level in a relevant engineering discipline. Have between 5- and 10-years' experience in the marine and / or offshore energy industry. Proven experience using Orcaflex or other hydrodynamic software. Experience with either cable installation, dynamic lift, motions or mooring analysis. The ability to select and apply latest standards, guidelines, methods, and techniques to analytical methods.

This position can be based at our following offices: London, Southampton, Exeter, Newcastle, Glasgow or Aberdeen. We offer hybrid working.

You must have the right to live and work in the United Kingdom.

Flexibility and willingness to travel, as well as readiness for onshore / offshore assignments at short notice locally and globally for periods, will be required.
