We're Hiring: Senior Network Engineer at Exa Networks

Location: 100 Bolton Rd, Bradford BD1 4DE
Full-Time | Permanent

We are seeking a new colleague to join our team based in Bradford (BD1 4DE) to contribute to the design and implementation of high-performance solutions, lead technical problem resolution, and support junior engineers, all while playing a key role in shaping our network and client-facing projects.

Responsibilities

We seek a senior network engineer who will collaborate with a team of 12 person of network, infrastructure and R&D engineers to help us deliver for our clients and will

Facilitate the delivery of Exa Networks Technical Strategy and department objectives to ensure adherence to service and operational levels Assist with the design of bespoke solutions for our customers and business operations Identify and implement automation opportunities in collaboration with other teams Act as an escalation point for queries within the Network Team and interdepartmentally, assisting colleagues where required Conduct documented research, evaluate and develop new technologies and solutions, to be introduced into the organisation's product and services portfolio in line with customer and operational requirements Participate to the evaluation of the technical capability of Network Engineers, reporting outputs to the Technical Operations Manager Proactively maintain and update internal systems used within the Network Engineering Team (as appropriate) Proactively investigate raised network impacting issues and events Document standard operating procedures and review training materials Monitor and proactively take actions to ensure the good network performance To provide emergency support cover, where required To observe and adhere to Exa Networks' policies and procedures to support our ISO 9001 and 27001 policies and procedures

Qualifications

Essential:

A good sense of humour, a respect for difference! A passion for innovation and collaborative problem-solving Strong organisational and troubleshooting skills In-depth knowledge and practical experience of routing protocols (e.g. BGP, ISIS or OSPF, MPLS) Hands-on expertise with vendor platforms: Juniper, Cisco, Arista, etc. At least CCNP/JNCIP or similar certifications or skills level
Desirable:

Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems and scripting (Python) Fortinet NSE 4/5 or equivalent Experience with Metro Ethernet/DWDM Knowledge of ISO 27001 and network security standards Understanding of firewall and web filtering solutions Experience in telecoms/network engineering environments
