Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Senior Night Care Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality overnight care to our residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being through attentive monitoring and support. Your proactive approach will help create a secure and nurturing environment during night hours, making a meaningful difference in residents' lives.
Responsibilities
Monitor residents throughout the night to ensure safety and comfort, responding promptly to their needs or emergencies
Assist with medication administration and basic medical tasks in accordance with care plans and protocols
Document all resident interactions, incidents, and care activities accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as EMR or Cerner
Support residents with personal care tasks including mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
Conduct regular checks on the environment to maintain hygiene standards and identify potential safety hazards
Communicate effectively with daytime staff regarding resident status changes or concerns encountered during your shift
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, especially those with dementia or memory care needs
Skills
Prior experience in senior care settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals; critical care or ICU experience is highly desirable
Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and aseptic techniques for infection control
Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs
Ability to perform phlebotomy and catheter care if required; familiarity with medication administration protocols
Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient service
