Job Description

We are a family run Care Home, based in Porthcawl. This is one of two Homes that we run.

Leading a team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care.
You will promote independence, choice, dignity and respect through the hands on care you deliver and oversee to our residents.
You will get to know our residents and their families - helping to ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans.
Assisting the Homes Manager, you will be involved in providing essential physical and mental care, as well as administering medication.
One of your key responsibilities is to maintain accurate records of the job you do and build strong relationships with the rest of your team. You will be expected to lead your team.

This is a full time (35 hrs a week) role, which will predominantly be on nights but there may be a requirement for some days to provide for annual leave and/or sickness cover etc. You will be given notice if this is required. The shift pattern involves working 3 x 10hr nights week one and 4 x 10hrs week two. This totals 70hrs over 2 weeks and gives an average of 35hrs a week. You may be required to work day shifts to cover for leave and/or sickness absence but you will be pre warned regarding any changes and this will be with your agreement.

You will, preferably already have a least a QCF/NVQ 3 in care (or working toward it) - but this is not essential, you will be provided with the opportunity to receive on the job training in order to gain this level. Your passion and attitude towards providing care for people is as important to us as the qualification.
