Job Summary

The Senior Nursery Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This position requires strong leadership and management skills to guide staff, engage with parents, and maintain high standards of childcare and early childhood education. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in nursery settings and a passion for fostering children's development.

Duties

Manage the overall operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in childcare. Lead, mentor, and support nursery staff to promote professional development and enhance team performance. Develop and implement educational programmes that cater to the developmental needs of children aged 0-5 years. Foster positive relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their children's progress and addressing any concerns. Maintain a safe and clean environment, conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments. Collaborate with local authorities and educational bodies to ensure adherence to early years frameworks. Manage budgets, resources, and staffing levels effectively to ensure smooth nursery operations.

Skills

Proven management and leadership abilities within a childcare or nursery setting. Extensive experience working with children, demonstrating a strong understanding of their developmental needs. Background in early childhood education is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with staff, parents, and external partners. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise responsibilities effectively. A valid driving licence is preferred for travel between sites or events as required.
