We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Nursery Practitioner to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive nursery experience, and a genuine passion for early childhood education. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and support a team of practitioners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and educational activities for young children. The successful applicant will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that promotes children's development whilst maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a team of nursery practitioners, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent care and educational standards
Plan, organise, and implement age-appropriate activities that stimulate learning and development in line with the early years curriculum
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and professional conduct
Monitor children's progress, record observations, and contribute to personalised learning plans
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times by adhering to health and safety policies
Assist in the organisation of daily routines, including meal times, play sessions, and rest periods
Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment that encourages exploration and learning
Support the induction and ongoing professional development of junior staff members
Drive organisational initiatives to enhance nursery operations and child outcomes
Requirements
Proven management and leadership experience within a nursery or early childhood setting
Extensive nursery experience with a strong understanding of childcare practices
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and developmental milestones
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst demonstrating initiative
Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent)
Experience working with children across different age groups
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external activities
Passionate about delivering high-quality childcare in a nurturing environment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From 19,954.43 per year
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
