We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children in a nurturing environment. This role involves working closely with children to support their development, ensuring their safety and well-being while fostering a love for learning.
Duties
To share responsibility for providing visitors with information about the nursery and its curriculum.
To share responsibility for ensuring that the nursery is a safe environment for children and staff, that the equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high, safety procedures are
always implemented.
To share responsibility for supporting the staff team, including covering should the manager or deputy be unavailable.
To contribute to changes within the setting and provide an opinion.
To be a keyholder and be responsible for opening and closing the setting when needed.
To complete DSL training and be a designated safeguarding lead when the lead DSL is not working.
Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to track individual development.
Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children.
Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
Support children's emotional and social development through positive interactions and guidance.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery setting, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
A relevant qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (e.g., Level 3 or 5 Diploma in Childcare).
Experience working with young children in a nursery or educational setting is desirable.
Strong understanding of child development principles and the EYFS framework.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children and parents.
A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
Ability to work as part of a team while also being able to use initiative when required.
Enhanced DBS check will be required prior to employment.
