to recruit a

Senior Occupational Therapist

for an important short-term care review project focused on

Single-Handed Care assessments

.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned OT looking to use their expertise to make a tangible difference in people's independence and quality of life -- while contributing to more sustainable, person-centred care delivery.

About the role:

You'll carry out

10 single-handed care assessments per week

, supporting a 15-week project aimed at reducing over-reliance on carers by recommending tailored equipment that enables greater independence at home.

You'll work closely with Adult Social Care teams, review existing care packages, and help ensure that every recommendation aligns with the

Care Act 2014

-- always with the client's wellbeing and dignity in mind.

Key responsibilities:

Conduct holistic occupational therapy assessments for adults across Shropshire Evaluate current double-handed care packages and identify safe single-handed alternatives Recommend, order, and manage equipment as part of care plan reassessments Promote independence, safety, and improved quality of life for service users Document outcomes in line with local procedures and national legislation Collaborate with social workers and adult services colleagues to deliver joined-up support

What you'll need:

HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience Proven experience in equipment provision, single-handed care, and reablement Familiarity with the

Care Act 2014

and adult social care processes Strong assessment, planning, and record-keeping skills A flexible, person-centred approach to complex care needs Ability to travel across the Shropshire area as needed
