We are looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic and supportive Learning Disability and Neurodiversity (LDN) Team. About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary Learning Disability and Neurodiversity Team. This pivotal role involves supporting a small team of dedicated Occupational Therapists while managing a focused caseload. You will work closely with individuals with learning disabilities and neurodiversity, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care and effective service delivery.



As part of this role, you will lead the triage of referrals, ensure timely and appropriate responses, and collaborate with Children's Services to support smooth transitions for young people preparing for adulthood.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the triage process

for incoming Occupational Therapy referrals, ensuring timely allocation and intervention.

Supervise two Occupational Therapists

working within neuro-reablement pathways.

Support an Occupational Therapist

working with individuals with learning and physical disabilities.

Collaborate with Brighter Futures for Children

, contributing to transition planning and integrated working across services.

Deliver complex Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions

, including: + Moving and handling + Postural management
+ Seating adaptations
+ Support for individuals with complex health needs

Promote strengths-based and person-centred practice

, embedding safeguarding principles throughout your work.

Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives

, helping shape the future of the team and service.

What We're Looking For:

A qualified Occupational Therapist registered with HCPC. Experience in supervising staff and managing complex caseloads. Strong understanding of transition planning, neuro-reablement, and disability support. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.

You will hold a varied caseload and contribute to the team performance and positive outcomes for our young people.



You will work within local RBC guidance, policies and procedures, as well as RCOT guidelines and good practice. A good understanding of the Care Act 2014 and its application, including Adult Safeguarding is desirable.
