Salary:
70,000+ depending on skills and experience, plus car allowance and bonus
What you'll be doing:
Apply and promote Sustainable Operational Excellence (SOE) principles
Build and maintain a strong network of key contacts across Engineering, Build, Quality, SHE, and Services Chief of Trade, ensuring regular engagement
Work with the Infrastructure Team to ensure new and existing facilities are production-ready, identify requirements for new manufacturing technologies, and support their introduction through the Manufacturing Technologies team
Collaborate with Build delivery teams, Quality, SHE, and Manufacturing to embed lessons learned, influence SSNA design and buildability with SME input, and prioritise Design for Safety
Act as a link between SSNA and the trade organisation, drawing on specialist expertise and facilitating the assessment of perspectives
Develop and support strategies to reduce build duration, ensuring their application through project delivery
Ensure process compliance, while actively reviewing and improving existing practices to embed continuous improvement
Manage labour and material budgets (direct and overhead) for current and future design and build phases, engaging with stakeholders, identifying risks, and implementing opportunities for mitigation
Your skills and experiences:
Solid SHE knowledge; experience in Managing SHE or equivalent; awareness of COSHH, confined spaces, working at height, etc
Demonstrated experience guiding and supporting a team within a manufacturing environment
Familiarity with and experience of the Submarines Build process on either Astute or Dreadnought

The team:
The SSNA Programme is excited to announce an opportunity to join the Build team, focusing on Build operations within the Services discipline. The role will provide subject matter expertise to Design, Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering teams, embedding Design for Build and Design for Safety principles in line with the SSNA Build Strategy. You will be responsible for delivering programme strategies, plans, and objectives that support Submarines business goals, while overseeing resource planning, training and development, and associated budgets.This position also offers strong career development opportunities within BAE Systems, with exposure across multiple business areas. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
