Job Description

Our Client are seeking an experienced Senior Paraplanner to provide high-level technical and research support to their advisers and clients. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate, compliant, and client-focused advice documentation, ensuring the smooth running of the advice process from preparation to submission.

This is a senior position requiring a proactive professional who can manage complex technical cases, contribute to advice development, and maintain a strong understanding of financial planning strategies, products, and legislative changes.

Key Responsibilities :



Technical & Business Support



Prepare thoroughly for technical meetings and debriefs with advisers.

Support the preparation and submission of business cases across all advice areas.

Provide detailed technical recommendations and input into client financial reports (CFRs).

Ensure all supporting documentation, suitability letters (SLs), and advice sets are complete, accurate, and compliant.

Liaise effectively with advisers, business administrators (BA), and other internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless client experience.

Protection :



Produce protection recommendations and suitability letters.

Support business submissions and manage related applications.

Provide technical commentary and additions to CFRs as required.

Investments & Pensions :



Create and assess pension and ISA illustrations, applications, and CYC (Client Yield Comparison) reports.

Complete technical pension calculations (e.g., PTFC, Annual Allowance, CYC).

Prepare and document recommendations for new business and drawdown cases.

Produce drawdown reviews, recommendations, and supporting calculations.

Support annuity sourcing, illustrations, and applications.

IHT, VCT & EIS :



Prepare IHT calculations, client recommendations, and supporting documentation.

Draft client correspondence outlining data requirements and next steps.

Create technical inputs for CFRs and suitability letters.

Support VCT/EIS cases with income tax relief and investable wealth calculations, recommendations, and submissions.

SIPPs :



Prepare illustrations, recommendations, and suitability letters for SIPP cases.

Conduct calculations as needed and add relevant technical notes to CFRs.

Technical Research & Tools :



Use Voyant, FE Analytics, and other research tools to model scenarios and support advice strategies.

Stay up to date with ongoing legislative and regulatory changes impacting advice.

Attend quarterly advice guidance webinars and internal training sessions.

Support ad-hoc technical requests and communications (e.g., drafting client or adviser emails).

Skills & Experience :



Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent) - essential.

Working towards or holding Chartered status - desirable.

Extensive experience in a paraplanning or senior technical role within financial services.

Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, protection, IHT, and tax planning.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Proficiency in Voyant, FE Analytics, and other financial planning software.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex cases independently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 45,000.00-50,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

London EC3V 9BQ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:

Paraplanning: 2 years (preferred)
Willingness to travel:

75% (preferred)
