What you can add:
Provide specialised pharmaceutical microbiology advice within all aspects of pharmaceutical manufacture and Good Manufacturing Practice related areas. Job includes deputising for the Head Microbiologist in the representation of the service and customers at regional and national level on aspects of pharmaceutical microbiology.
Provide specialist pharmaceutical microbiology advice to customers of the service regarding preparation of sterile and non-sterile medicinal products paying particular attention to minimising the risk from micro-organisms within the production environment. This will include developing test protocols and how to deal with failures against standards.
Participate in the validation of existing microbiological methods within the laboratory and undertaking research and development into new methods in line with the needs of the service.
Produce scientific reports and submit papers for peer review from the research performed.
To release microbiology results from the laboratory in line with current procedures and provide expert advice on these as required.
What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in microbiology.
Ability to communicate effectively to a range of professionals.
Ability to carry out microbiological testing accurately and precisely.
Minimum 3 years' experience in Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Quality Systems including working within a regulated pharmaceutical production environment.
Experience of developing cost-effective methods and validating pharmaceutical microbiology methods.
Experience of writing up scientific data for publication.
In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of
Relevant Qualifications
Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
