What you can add:
Dispense in-patient, one-stop and discharge medication requests including stock supplies and distribution of drugs to wards and peripheral hospitals as per standard operating procedures.
Dispense ward stock and TTO (to take out) controlled drugs, ensuring that prescriptions and orders conform to the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Be the Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) and complete final accuracy checking slots within the dispensary if needed.
Monitor the Emergency and Controlled Drug cupboards. Ensuring stock and orders are placed, specimen signatures are updated, monthly stock takes are done and ward requisitions are completed within turnaround times and escalate any discrepancies.
Provide a ward top up service of stock medicines if required and work with the ward manager, pharmacist and pharmacy stores team to support stock list review as required.
What you'll need:
Professional Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Be an Accredited Checking Technician.
NVQ level 3 Pharmacy services or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or SCOTVEC or equivalent.
Experience or awareness of ward based or medicine management technician roles.
