Your duties as a Senior Phlebotomist will be based at Worthing & Southlands Hospitals covering wards, adult & paediatric outpatients and associated clinics. You may also be required to work at St Richards Hospital depending on the needs of the service.
Experience / knowledge of venepuncture techniques desirable.
We are willing to consider for Band 2 Trainee position for suitable candidate.
The ability to work a varied shift pattern is required and this will include occasional Bank Holiday sessions or additional weekend duties.
Monday to Sunday from 07.00 until 17.00
Main duties of the job
Through the collection of blood samples from patients, to assist the workforce of Pathology in providing a specialised, diagnostic service contributing to the clinical care of the patient, to enable diagnosis and subsequent monitoring of the effectiveness of treatment given.
Using skills gained through the Phlebotomy training scheme, the individual will be expected to develop judgement and utilise learnt specialist skills and scientific knowledge to assist in the provision of a high quality and timely Phlebotomy service.
The Phlebotomy service covers all areas of the Trust including satellite units such as Children's Assessment unit / Paediatrics Outpatients Department
