Job Description

:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Pizza Chef to lead our pizza section and support the kitchen team in delivering high-quality, authentic Italian dishes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pizza-making, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to maintain consistency and efficiency during busy service.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the pizza section, preparing and cooking pizzas to a consistently high standard. Oversee daily preparation of dough, sauces, and toppings, ensuring freshness and quality. Ensure all dishes meet presentation, portion, and taste standards. Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and stock levels in the pizza station. Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service and communication. Contribute to menu development, including creating new pizza recipes and specials. Monitor food safety, hygiene, and health standards in line with regulations. Assist in managing kitchen operations, including ordering and stock control.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a pizza chef, ideally in a senior or lead role. Excellent knowledge of traditional pizza-making techniques, including dough fermentation and cooking methods. Experience with wood-fired or stone ovens. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain high standards. Passion for Italian cuisine and attention to detail. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Desirable:

Formal culinary training. Creativity in developing seasonal or speciality pizzas. Knowledge of wider Italian dishes and kitchen operations.
