What will I be bringing to life in this role?


We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Senior Azure Engineer to join our Research & Development (R&D) in the platform engineering team at Kinetic. As we continue our large-scale cloud transformation serving 100+ production customers with year-on-year growth, this role demands deep technical expertise and proven platform engineering leadership to architect and operate our mission-critical Azure infrastructure at scale.


The ideal candidate will bring a distinguished track record in platform engineering, ideally from an independent software vendor (ISV) environment or large-scale SaaS platform team. You will demonstrate mastery of cloud-native architectures, infrastructure automation, and site reliability engineering principles, with the strategic vision to drive platform evolution in a multi-tenant enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities


Lead the architecture, development, and operational excellence of our Azure platform, significantly expanding engineering capacity and driving measurable improvements in platform reliability, performance, and scalability Establish and champion platform engineering best practices across Azure infrastructure, serving as a technical authority and mentor to elevate organizational cloud competency Architect and optimise sophisticated customer onboarding workflows, implementing automation and infrastructure-as-code patterns to reduce deployment cycles and improve operational efficiency Design and implement comprehensive observability frameworks utilizing Azure monitoring and analytics capabilities to inform strategic platform decisions and capacity planning Drive continuous platform evolution through technical leadership, incorporating emerging Azure services and architectural patterns to maintain competitive advantage Revolutionise the environment with AI and Data Insight tooling to help architect, monitor and manage platform and use new technologies to reduce onboarding time, increase platform efficiency and provide automated opportunities to reduce cost and time across the Engineering Lifecycle. What will I need to hit the ground running?


Proven platform engineering expertise

with 5+ years in production Azure environments, demonstrating deep architectural knowledge across compute, networking, storage, identity, and security domains

Track record in ISV or large-scale platform environments

, with evidence of designing, building, and operating multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure serving diverse customer workloads

Advanced infrastructure-as-code proficiency

using Terraform, Azure Bicep, Ansible, or ARM templates, with production experience managing complex, enterprise-scale deployments

Deep understanding of cloud security and compliance frameworks

including ISO27001, PCI/DSS, and GDPR, with hands-on experience implementing security controls and maintaining audit readiness

Production CI/CD pipeline architecture and implementation

experience using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms, with demonstrable expertise in GitOps workflows

Strong programming capabilities

in one or more languages (Python, Go, PowerShell, C#) with evidence of building automation tooling and custom platform solutions

Site Reliability Engineering mindset

with experience defining and achieving SLOs, implementing monitoring/alerting strategies, and conducting post-incident analysis

Highly Desirable


Multi-cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP) demonstrating architectural versatility and cloud-agnostic thinking Enterprise virtual desktop infrastructure expertise (Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, Citrix) in production environments Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert Experience with container orchestration (AKS, Docker) and modern application deployment patterns Background in financial services, higher education, or regulated industries requiring stringent compliance postures Understanding of FINOPS processes for forecasting and control of cloud costing models. Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects or recognised thought leadership in platform engineering communities
