: Senior Play Assistant

PICNIC is a fun, exciting and highly regarded children's role play centre in Kingston-upon-Thames. It operates 7 days per week and includes a cafe on site, serving a range of hot and cold meals and snacks for the whole family.

We are now looking for a Senior Play Assistant to continue to build and enhance our excellent reputation.

The Senior Play assistant will support the management team with the day to day running of PICNIC, with the ultimate aim of ensuring all guests, both adults and children, have the most enjoyable visit possible.

This is a part time role with two/three days per week, the successful applicant must also be available to work a weekend shift every week.

The role and responsibilities:

Ensuring the highest standards of customer service at all times, including greeting customers on arrival

Handling customer enquiries, including booking and party enquiries

Opening and closing the centre

Supervising junior members of the team whilst on shift

Ensuring the site remains clean and well maintained at all times and all health and safety checks are completed

Supporting the rest of the team and leading by example, including making coffees, serving food and resetting all the toys and props in between play sessions.

Who we're looking for:

A friendly, hard-working, enthusiastic and hands on individual that loves interacting with both children and adults.

The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising staff and working in a customer-facing role within a leisure or hospitality business.

Must be proactive and a self-starter, willing and able to contribute to the overall success of the play centre and identify continuous improvements in both customer experience and operations.

Ideally you will have experience in food handling. A food hygiene certificate will be required, which can be obtained on the job.

Knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements.
