IF YOU are interested in policing and supporting Cambridgeshire Constabulary to be the best it can be, then we have a job which could be perfect for you.

A vacancy has arisen within the 'governance team' in the

Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

The role will be varied with a focus on using police performance reporting to support the Police and Crime Commissioner in holding the Constabulary to account. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, partners and stakeholders to support transparent decision making, compliance with statutory requirements as well as providing strategic and practical advice on governance, risk management and assurance matters.

You will need to be comfortable interpreting information and translating it into reports and briefings and liaising with senior police colleagues; so excellent communication skills are a must.

An existing knowledge of policing and/or criminal justice system would enable you to hit the ground running.

There are many reasons why you should apply - below are just a few:

You will be part of a small and friendly team that works hard to support the Police and Crime Commissioner to carry out their statutory duties working alongside but separate to the Constabulary. You can split your week between home and the office, currently at Police Headquarters in Huntingdon, for a better work/life balance. Although may need to travel around the county and elsewhere for meetings as required. You will have a chance to support policing in the background contributing to cutting crime and keeping people safe. You can join Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and save for your future.

The role is full time (37 hours) with a starting salary of 46,359.

If you want a chat about the role please send an email to Heather Sheldon, Head of Governance and Compliance heather.sheldon@cambs.police.uk before May 20. After that date please reach out to Nicky Edwards, Assistant Chief Executive, nicky.edwards@cambs.police.uk and we can arrange a call.
