Senior Power Systems & Algorithms Engineer

to become an integral part of our dynamic team in Swindon.

We create, licence, manufacture, sell and provide services for technologies which:

Control and monitor high voltages and power (11 kV to 400 kV and up to 1000 MVA); and Are fitted in electricity substations, on overhead power lines, and in control centres.
We call this Total Voltage Control.

This role is based

4 days a week in our offices

Salary will be dependent on experience and the role.

Role Purpose

As a

Senior Power Systems & Algorithms Engineer,

you'll play a key role in developing and maintaining industry-leading products and services. You'll bring deep expertise in power systems modelling, algorithm development, and substation digitalisation (IEC 61850), contributing to our future vision.

As

Senior Power Systems & Algorithms Engineer

you would be spending most of your time:

Leading and contributing to the Technology Development process Designing and maintaining products, SaaS solutions, and internal tools Applying your specialism and broader engineering skills to deliver outcomes Modelling power systems to inform software architecture and design Continuously improving development processes and team capabilities

Senior Power Systems & Algorithms Engineer

_role you will require:

Strong understanding of HV utility power systems (essential) and voltage/tapchanger control (desirable) Expertise in IEC 61850 and software/hardware architecture for substations Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and configuration tool development Experience with Agile methodologies (BDD, TDD, CI/CD) Relevant qualifications or industry experience Excellent communication, motivation, and influencing skills
