Connect to your opportunity Reporting to the Director of External Relations, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be responsible for developing and implementing media relations campaigns for our tech & digital PR pillar as well managing a PR manager and Assistant PR manager. You will lead media relations for designated business areas and industry groups and support the wider External Relations team on corporate campaigns and reactive issues. You\xe2\x80\x99ll do this in close collaboration with the firm\xe2\x80\x99s industry and business leaders, as well as colleagues across corporate affairs, marketing, social media, research and public affairs. With a keen interest in the news, business and political agenda, you\xe2\x80\x99ll have an eye for what makes a good story and excellent writing standards for press releases, comments, social media posts and opinion pieces. Additionally, you\xe2\x80\x99ll need to be able to lead, manage and deliver multiple projects to tight deadlines, and influence senior leaders and stakeholders within the business. Specific responsibilities \xe2\x80\x93

  • Develop, manage and execute PR strategies for assigned areas, ensuring they are in line with the firm\xe2\x80\x99s priorities, objectives and wider corporate campaigns.
  • Influence and support marketing and research activities, developing new ideas with the relevant teams to ensure newsworthy insights and coverage.
  • Understand and identify business issues that Deloitte\xe2\x80\x99s spokespeople can discuss across national and trade media, including print, broadcast and social channels, and manage proactive and reactive media requests.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on external communications best practice, and report regularly on key successes and ways to raise eminence.
  • Lead on and oversee the drafting of press releases, media comments, social media posts and opinion pieces.
  • Develop new and existing journalist relationships across key media publications.
  • Manage and develop junior members of the team.
Connect to your skills and professional experience We\xe2\x80\x99re open to applications from a range of industries and sectors, but you\xe2\x80\x99ll need clear experience of working in communications/PR or media for a minimum of seven years as well as some experience of people management. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also need to be a great team player with a high level of personal autonomy, and have a hunger to learn, improve and do great work.   • Experience in public relations (gained either in-house or within an agency) or journalism.
