This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced OT looking to step into a senior role, providing expert support, leadership, and clinical guidance to a busy and dynamic team.
You'll play a key role in assessing complex needs, supporting independence, and promoting wellbeing for adults and older people across the borough.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake
complex assessments
of adults and older people with physical, sensory, or cognitive impairments.
Provide
specialist advice
on equipment, adaptations, and housing solutions to promote independence.
Manage a
caseload of complex cases
and ensure timely delivery of care plans and support packages.
Supervise and mentor junior occupational therapists and therapy assistants.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, physiotherapists, and housing officers.
Contribute to
service development
, audits, and quality assurance within the Occupational Therapy service.
Ensure all work complies with statutory duties under the
Care Act 2014
,
Mental Capacity Act 2005
, and other relevant legislation.
About You
You are an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life for service users.
Essential requirements:
Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification).
HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council).
Demonstrable post-qualifying experience in a local authority or healthcare setting.
Strong assessment, report writing, and case management skills.
Excellent understanding of moving & handling, equipment provision, and major/minor adaptations.
Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively.
Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and person-centred practice.
Desirable:
Experience supervising junior staff or students.
Knowledge of local authority systems and community-based rehabilitation.
