We pay an attractive salary of 42,839 - 46,142 with an additional 2,995 annual market supplement, and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The South East Wales Emergency Duty Team provides an emergency social work service out-of-hours to the five local authorities of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, and Torfaen.
We are an enthusiastic and dedicated team who strive to support adults, children and families who are facing crisis out of hours. The team responds to emergency situations involving children, young people, vulnerable adults, that cannot wait until the next working day, working closely with other partner agencies, such as the police and health.
Caerphilly, as the lead authority, provides the service for the partner authorities from a centrally located office base. We operate a 4-week rota which includes working weekends, bank holidays and overnights with a duty manager available at all times either office based or on call overnight.
The post includes a 20% temporary disturbance for working out of hours plus a Market Supplement for Approved Mental Health Professionals: (2995 pro rata).
We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Work Practitioner to join our well-established team. Please note that on this occasion we are actively looking to prioritise candidates who are Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHP), and it is desirable that candidates have experience in safeguarding children and adults at risk with a focus on working with adults, children, carers and families in crisis. We also provide excellent training opportunities that will support the successful candidate with their on-going professional development.
It is essential that applicants are in possession of the minimum qualifications of Diploma/Degree in Social Work or equivalent, are an approved Mental Health Practitioner or committed to undertake this training and have at least 3 years post-qualifying experience.
