Location: Birmingham, 2 days per week

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
People Analytics & Insights within HR are playing a pivotal role in enabling the modernisation of data capabilities and decision intelligence at the BBC. Developing and implementing enhanced systems, processes, and data which underpin our global workforce is a key BBC priority; Identifying opportunities to automate and accelerate data solutions across People Services, extending HR metric frameworks, and measuring improvements to the employee experience.
This team's strategy is to enable our people, managers, and leaders across the BBC to understand and enhance the richness of our talented, diverse and representative workforce, through the delivery of trusted, valuable and insightful data products.
The role of Senior Principal HR Data Analyst is pivotal in supporting the Head of Data to identify and implement transformative analytics opportunities, supporting our HR colleagues to self-serve, analysing culture data, and enhancing people analytics. Through effective partnerships, team leadership, and enterprise thinking, this role will work closely with senior stakeholders in HR and beyond to establish people analytics product ownership and enable the team to deliver enhanced capabilities.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
As a Senor Principal HR Analyst within the People Analytics & Insights team, you will play a leading role in managing and evolving the team and its implementation of operational and analytical capabilities across all workforce cohorts, throughout the employee lifecycle. Working with the People Services leadership team and the Head of People Data, this role will identify product use cases, inform solution designs, test and deploy enhanced capabilities and support for adoption and usage.
You will be engaged in all aspects of proposal, design, specification, testing, development, and product success. As a data and analytics expert, you will be supporting the team to review and measure new features against existing products and solutions to ensure consistency and interoperability of data and systems.
You'll support the Head of Data in establishing a roadmap of prioritised SLAs and KPIs which could be enhanced through product development and automation. You'll partner with colleagues in product, technology, data and AI governance to ensure opportunities are explored and outcomes are measured effectively and with appropriate security and compliance guardrails. To support successful adoption, this role will work collaboratively with HR leadership and delivery teams, to ensure AI operational and functional readiness are incrementally improved.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Some of the things we love:
Essential
  • Strong experience of data analysis, modelling and report design, with data and analytics tooling experience & capabilities such as Tableau/PowerBI.
  • Experience of data management principles, documentation, and delivery, including data mapping, metrics governance and cataloguing.
  • Proven experience of leading analytics teams and product development.
  • Experience of developing and maturing KPI and metric frameworks
  • Experience in developing product prioritised requirements, backlog, and roadmap
Desirable
  • Knowledge of architectural domains, across data, solution and technical disciplines
  • Ideally experienced in working in complex and fragmented technology landscapes, with expertise in mixed data and system landscapes
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies, ensuring delivery of key user stories and product outcomes
