We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geotechnical engineering and will be responsible for leading projects from conception through to completion. This role requires a deep understanding of soil mechanics, foundation design, and construction practices, along with proficiency in various engineering software tools. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Lead geotechnical investigations and assessments for various projects, including site characterisation and soil sampling.
Design foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks using advanced engineering principles.
Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including analysis and recommendations based on site conditions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project designs.
Utilise software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, Mathcad, and ArcGIS for design and analysis tasks.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
Conduct land surveying as required to support project needs.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Review schematics and system designs to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
Experience
A degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field is essential; a Master's degree is preferred.
Significant experience in geotechnical engineering with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other relevant engineering tools (Mathcad, Revit, MicroStation).
Strong understanding of construction practices and land surveying techniques.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve complex engineering problems effectively.
Exceptional communication skills for liaising with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
