What are we looking for





We have an opportunity for a Lead Process Engineer. In this role you will use best practices and knowledge of in-ternal or external issues to improve the process engineering discipline within ITM and will have administrative and technical responsibility for the process and systems engineering team. The role involves solving complex problems and using discipline-specific knowledge to improve ITM products. The successful candidate should be capable of performing process studies to include process optimisation study to confirm/optimise the electrolyser process de-sign configuration, Flare, Relief, Blowdown/Depressurizing, Vent system Design, utility system sizing. Participate in safety reviews, including HAZOP/HAZID studies and process safety assessment.



You will be capable of leading work on small and medium-sized projects or areas within larger projects and must be well-versed in chemical process plant industry-standard design code.



Responsibilities





Responsible for the process modelling, develop heat and material balances, utility balances, process flow diagrams (PFD) for total plant using programs such as Hysys/Unisim. Develop piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications. Perform process equipment sizing, hydraulic and heat exchanger design, and pressure relief calculations.
Evaluate and optimise process design alternatives to ensure safety, efficiency and adherence to industry standards and regulations. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate process design with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation designs. In this role, you will provide information throughout the various proposal, engineering and construction phases to the proposal and project teams with regard to all aspects of process and systems engineering. Creation and review of pressure and explosive atmospheres safety cases. Participating in design safety studies such as HAZOP and LOPA. Creation and review of operations/maintenance manuals and FAT procedures. Perform a thorough review of customer's inquiry and / or request for process design information. Participate in project meetings, reviews, and technical discussions with clients and stakeholders. You will assist in Plant start-up activities, as required and direct performance testing of the plant and deliv-er results report.

About You





Knowledge and Experience





You have a bachelor's or master's degree in process or chemical engineering 10+ years of working experience, in oil and gas, chemical and gas processing EPC industry. Most of your experience is with a major EPC company and not at a production facility Proficiency in process engineering software tools, such as UNISIM, HYSYS, Aspen Plus, and PipeSim, for process simulation and analysis Experience in multi-disciplinary projects and teams To be willing and available to travel domestic and/or internationally Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite

Advantageous





Additional technical know-how in Alkaline, SOEC, SMR, fuel cells, clean fuel, energy storage systems and/or chemical synthesis (e.g. ammonia, methanol) is a plus Knowledge of compressed gases, pressure systems and Pressure Equipment Directives as well as other rel-evant legislation applicable to the UK, Europe and the USA Knowledge of ATEX Directives and other legislation related to explosive atmospheres Although not a requirement, applicants for this position will usually be certified as Licensed/Chartered Pro-fessional Engineers Familiarity with process control via PLC systems Familiarity with Safety Instrumented Systems and SIL calculations Experience of chairing HAZOP and/or LOPA studies

Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with colleagues and individuals internally and externally, as well as to effectively communicate process concepts to both in-house clients and external customers Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
