Senior Process Safety Engineer

Are you enthusiastic about driving process improvement within a world class pharmaceutical R&D environment? If so, this Senior Process Safety Engineer role could be an exciting opportunity to explore.

As Process Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering expertise and oversight for Capital Investments (such as equipment design, introduction and upgrades), process and machinery safety evaluations, process understanding, quality and EHS initiatives.

In this role you will

  • Lead the project team to deliver technical and process improvement activities, primarily within an area of expertise.
  • Fulfil the role of technical advisor and provide oversight to our contract validation and project partners to enable their effective delivery of capital projects.
  • Engineering lead for the pilot plant process safety with support from safety duty holder
  • Ensure projects alignment to pilot plant project programme schedule and priorities.
  • Perform all above activities in compliance with Quality, Environment, Health, Safety and Regulatory requirements.
  • Champion safety initiatives and improvements across the department and wider network
  • Drive improvement and experience sharing across the pilot plant network
Why you?

Qualifications & Skills:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • BEng or MEng, in mechanical, or chemical/process engineering, or similar college qualification with extensive experience in pharmaceutical plant and facilities.
  • Project management or matrix team leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise / background in safety activities (SIL, HAZID, PHIRA, WHAT-IF, LOPA, DSEAR, Machinery Safety etc)
  • Prior experience of continuous improvement techniques and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Chartered engineer or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the pharmaceutical industry and Good Manufacturing Practice, ideally including the validation life cycle.
