An exciting opportunity has become available with our prestigious client who is a prominent government department. The client is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join their welcoming team.




The Senior Procurement Manager Role:




Responsible for assessing the existing Commercial landscape and reviewing the impact on programme delivery. Design and implement approaches which ensure the right outcome for the department. Lead on Supplier integration with regards to relationship and cost impact. Able to clarify the ability to terminate current contracts, working with programme finance leads to understand impact and realisation of any potential benefits. Capable of renegotiating existing contracts. Manage the impact of existing Commercial financial models. Act as the primary point of contact between the incumbent Suppliers and the department.




What Senior Procurement Manager Will Need:




Experience of running/leading open procurements in a regulated environment with a strong understanding of the benefits delivered through best practice Strong working knowledge of public sector procurement principles and legislation including both PCR2015 and full understanding of Procurement Act 23 (PA23). (The successful candidate will be expected to run a large procurement under PA23 from OBC to award) Experience of producing or advising on business cases (OBC, FBC) to be able to advise stakeholders in the business accordingly Strong commercial acumen and ability to show evidence-based decision making Excellent people engagement skills across all levels of internal and external stakeholders A collaborative approach to drive decisions and deliver on timely outcomes Ability to apply judgement to make quick and effective decisions Customer and delivery focus to meet deadlines in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. Ability to manage multiple demands and conflicting priorities Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in delivering commercial advice to senior leaders Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Word, Teams and Excel Good understanding and practical knowledge of risk management and appropriate risk mitigation techniques when managing procurements Working knowledge of sourcing systems
