Job Description

RECRUITMENTiQ is currently working in partnership with a business who are widely regarded as industry leading and innovative within our sector, as a business is focused on the design and manufacture of container handling changeparts.


Our design team are responsible for producing solutions to meet our customers varying needs, whether it be the introduction of new products on a packaging line to solving an existing problem. Minimising downtime is key in any production environment and our products contribute to improved efficiencies in this area.


This role requires taking complete ownership of projects from initial customer enquiry, through design before then inspecting manufactured parts prior to dispatch.


While there's a common group of key skills and tasks involved, there's always opportunities for development or expansion in the role.


KEY TASKS




Developing and maintaining customer relationships Assessing customer requests to provide the best solutions for their needs Carrying out on site survey visits of customer equipment through the use of 3D metrology grade scanners to allow our products to be installed Providing bespoke solutions based on our product range using the latest 3D Autodesk modelling techniques Providing innovative solutions to customer issues that expand our existing product portfolio Taking part in design review meetings with customers Producing detailed part and assembly drawings for manufacture Preparation of purchase requisitions & associated bill of material files Use CAM software to program parts for production on CNC machinery

Education requirements:




Must have a minimum HND Qualification in a Product or Mechanical Design Engineering discipline.

Essential Skills/Experience:




Post qualification work experience in an engineering design role. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate strong experience of working with large quantity assemblies and machined components. Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD experience - Aproven, demonstrable and deep working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor software. Good time management skills to ensure production schedules are met. Good communication & interpersonal skills. Successful candidates will be able to work on projects as part of a team or on an individual basis. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. Previous experience within a design/manufacturing role, the packaging industry would be particularly beneficial A valid driving licence and passport. The nature of this role requires occasional travel to customer sites globally.

CAM software experience Understanding of ISO 9001 systems Awareness of Health & Safety legislation Project management skills

Full time 39 hours/week Monday-Thursday(8:00-17:00) & Friday(8:00-13:00)
