An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Product Designer to join our thriving UK Medical Manufacturing Company.



The successful candidate will join a technical team delivering innovative Medical Device solutions and be involved with the management of projects from conception to manufacture. The role will cover all aspects of product design development including: concept generation, conceptual development, detail design for manufacture, Computer Aided Design (CAD), development prototyping, testing, analysis, verification, qualification through to commercialisation and production support.



Due to the nature the role, we are seeking an individual who can communicate effectively at all levels within the business, demonstrating a proficient and a pragmatic approach. International travel may be required on occasions.

Essential Experience/Qualifications:



Demonstrated experience of new product development, product design through team working Demonstrate experience of creative innovation, application of form, colour, texture and exemplary aesthetic detailing as a manufactured product solution Ability to manage the technical aspects of a project teams, ensuring timely and cost effective completion of projects. This includes project facilitation, comprehensive project documentation (including design briefs, risk analysis) and verification tasks Experience in cross-functional working across departments such as Technical, Marketing/Sales, Tooling, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Proficiency in Siemens NX or similar Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and creating 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings Qualified with a degree in Design, or possessing equivalent significant experience in related Product Design role, ideally in the medical or another regulated sector

Desirable Experience/Qualifications:



Knowledge of design for high and low volume injection moulding including design for manufacture and assembly Knowledge of concept to production development programs and design for manufacture Experience within the medical device industry, with knowledge of MDD 93/42/EEC, EU MDR (2017/745), ISO 13485 and FDA Design Control Experience using Teamcenter and/ or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System Knowledge of BS8888 and Geometric Tolerancing

Hours of Work:



40 hours per week, office based Monday to Friday 09:00am - 17:30pm (flexibility can be given to the right candidate)
