Your Team: You will join the Times Media Product Management team. The Product Management team is organised around three core pillars of the Times product; Subscription Growth, Reader Experience and Commercial Advertising. You will be leading a cross-functional Product team made up of Product, Design, Delivery and Engineering.

Your Role: Joining at an exciting time in the evolution of both the Product team and the Times as a whole, you will be responsible for Commercial product OKRs, helping to drive revenue creation. You\'ll collaborate closely with our Commercial stakeholders and the Commercial Technology team to introduce new monetisation opportunities across The Times core estate, and optimise Commercial-led products such as Times Money Mentor and Times Travel.

You will manage the discovery, experimentation and delivery cycles of initiatives that are focused on impacting these outcomes.

Day to day:

  • Lead product requirement discussions and define the roadmap, prioritising where the team can deliver most impact and help the teams package the work into deliverable releases
Share context, provide clarity and frame problems to empower the development team

Be responsible for the desirability and viability of the solutions we build, collaborating with the design and engineering teams to solve problems for our customers

Collaborate closely with the Commercial Technology Team and stakeholders to drive outcomes from multiple product development squads, in multiple near-shore locations

Create alignment with the other product managers on The Times and Sunday Times and work with them to make the best decisions for the product as a whole

Identify market opportunities to improve the advertising experience for readers and clients

Ensure digital advertising is a key consideration in product, design and engineering within The Times and The Sunday Times

Proactive reporting of data to support roadmap progress with comms to key stakeholders

Engage and contribute to the wider News UK Product community, sharing learnings, best practice and helping to develop the Product function at News

What we are looking for from you:
  • Ability to work with and influence others to sell your vision and the product journey.
An experimental approach, focused on how we can validate or invalidate our assumptions and drive incremental impact

With the support of our teams, be able to define the solutions to support our roadmap and delivery timeframes, and present well-defined business cases

Make priority decisions, in collaboration with your Product and wider stakeholders, and be able to justify those decisions when needed

Experience working with Engineering to balance the need for shared, common technology whilst meeting the needs of the business

An eye for spotting commercial opportunities, and working out how to balance them with our users\' needs
