Overall purpose of the role




The Senior Product Owner / Business Analyst plays a critical role in connecting business operations with technology delivery across Blue Motor Finance. Working across departments, this role identifies opportunities for improvement, simplifies and optimises business processes, and ensures that the right technology requirements are captured, designed and delivered, whether through third-party SaaS configuration, internal engineering teams or partner integrations. The role acts as a bridge between business and technology, shaping initiatives that modernise our operating model, reduce technical debt, and delivering measurable value aligned to Blues digital transformation vision.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities




Business and Process Excellence

Partner with business leaders to map and analyse end-to-end processes, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities. Redesign processes to simplify, automate and standardise workflows, aligning to Blues goal of scalable digital self-service. Collaborate with data and technology teams to define metrics, KPIs and measurement frameworks that track operational efficiency and customer outcomes. Lead discovery and root-cause analysis to identify issues impacting service quality, performance or compliance.


Product Ownership and Requirements Management

Act as product owner for internal process improvements and technology initiatives that span multiple systems. Translate business needs into well-defined user stories, epics and functional requirements. Manage backlogs and prioritisation in line with business value and strategic objectives. Work closely with internal software engineers and external vendors to ensure that technical solutions meet the intended business outcomes. Oversee configuration, testing and validation of SaaS platforms and integrations with Blues core systems.


Technology and Change Enablement

Support design and documentation of existing and target architectures for business systems, ensuring continuity and knowledge transfer. Partner with the Head of Engineering and Solution Architect to design new integrations that improve system interoperability and data flow. Evaluate third-party solutions for alignment to Blues technical and security standards. Participate in critical incident reviews, providing business process insight and recommendations for permanent fixes and resilience improvements. Contribute to change management activities ensuring that teams are ready, trained and supported as new capabilities are deployed.


Strategic Contribution

Champion Blues modernisation agenda, embedding Lean and digital-first principles into daily operations. Provide structured insight and recommendations to senior leadership on where process and technology investments can create the most value. Help evolve Blues target operating model, linking front-to-back process improvements to customer and commercial outcomes. Support the continuous development of business analysis and product disciplines across Blue, mentoring junior analysts where appropriate.

Compliance and Regulation



Develop and maintain a full understanding of the Companys compliance requirements (including the Financial Conduct Authoritys Conduct Rules) and act in accordance with the standards, instructions in, and the spirit of those requirements. Take responsibility for ensuring that personal data within your remit is handled lawfully, fairly, and in line with the companys data protection policies and procedures. Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer to ensure compliance with data protection standards, guidelines, and principles, acting in a manner that upholds these requirements while supporting the DPOs overall oversight responsibilities. For customer data, ensure it is processed securely and in accordance with data privacy obligations to protect the rights of individuals. For employee personal data, handle it with strict confidentiality and in compliance with employment and data protection legislation. Act to deliver good outcomes for our customers and understand how this requirement specifically applies to your role at Blue.

Skills and Experience




Experience

5+ years in a hybrid business analyst, product owner, or process improvement role, ideally within financial services or fintech. Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving both business change and technology delivery. Strong understanding of SaaS configuration, API integrations and workflow automation tools. Familiarity with Agile delivery methods, user story writing and backlog management. Experience documenting complex system and process architectures. Exposure to regulatory environments and operational risk management in finance is desirable.
