To support the NPD Manager by acting as a deputy and taking greater responsibility in all NPD work.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and lead dedicated development projects, ensuring adherence to critical paths, customer and internal requirements
Identify and manage potential risks to timelines, costs, and quality during the development process.
Plan and lead customer visits as required.
In conjunction with the NPD Manager and category manager, actively review the market, allowing us to complete benchmarking and identify key trends and competitor activity
Develop innovative recipes which meet customer requirements, that are both commercially and operationally viable.
Prepare and present product samples at all stages of development.
Create and maintain documentation to support the product development process, substantiate product claims, and ensure compliance with all relevant standards.
Lead product factory trials, working closely with internal cross-functional teams to optimise product safety, quality and production efficiency to ensure smooth transition from development to production.
Organise testing and analysis to support product validation, shelf life, and artwork documentation.
Provide support for the artwork and specification process, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
Support NPD Manager in driving innovation and key business priorities e.g. packaging reduction, portfolio optimisation, and continuous improvement.
Develop and manage Standard Operating Procedures for the NPD Team
Provide guidance and day-to-day management of the Development Assistant, sup-porting their development and workload management.
Provide delegated leadership support in the absence of the NPD Manager, ensuring continuity of NPD operations and decision-making
Job requirements:
Skills & Experience required to do this role...
Ability to build good relationships both internally and externally
Experience of working within a development department on products from concept to launch
Passion for food and cooking
Qualifications:
Degree qualified in Food Science/Technology or a similar discipline with a minimum of 3 years in industry
