Is this the role for you?

Working as part of the UK Paramount Production and Programming team, responsible for commissioned programmes commercial negotiation. End-to-end management of all original UK-commissioned content across UK Paramount+ and Channel5. Leading all aspects of the entire production cycle working with production partnership to navigate production issues and successfully deliver commissioned content within the broadcaster\xe2\x80\x99s requirements.

What will you be doing?

  • Working within the Commissioning and Programming division, review and negotiate production budgets, schedules and commercial terms with production partners including, but not limited to, Production budgets, commercial licensed Rights, and revenues. Achieving value for money while maintaining positive relationships with production partnership
  • Strategic approach to problem-solving in line with departmental and business requirements
  • Ownership of end-to-end process with self
  • Coordinate the smooth running of payments for suppliers, approving invoices and final costs. Managing a slate of multiple productions at various stages of the production cycle and ensuring that all system data is up to date to reflect this
  • Conduct day to day communication that arises from producers and suppliers, ensuring producers have access to the appropriate contacts, information and advice required to enable the Producer to deliver on time and aligned with channel rights, technical and delivery requirements
  • Liaise with internal departments including Legal, Finance, Scheduling, Compliance, Press & Publicity, Broadcast Operations to ensure excellent communication and efficiencies are maintained.
  • Liaise with Commissioning Editors and Producers to sustain all productions will be delivered successfully within our \xe2\x80\x98No Diversity, No Commission\xe2\x80\x99 framework
  • Liaise with Legal Compliance and Risk Management departments to ensure all compliance, welfare, and risks are appropriately identified and operated across our slate of productions.
  • Liaise with the Business and Legal Affairs department to guarantee that the contract terms are accurate and PPA\xe2\x80\x99s are issued and signed in a timely manner
  • Work with the VP Production on company/departmental systems and workflow, inputting into the change management of systems from creation through to implementation & identifying new ways of working and chipping in to effective implementation
  • Lead business projects as required and provide reporting if necessary
What are we looking for?
  • Ability to lead by example to constantly drive forward your own and departmental workflow
  • Ability to work under direction while influencing and supporting others with commercial and production challenges
  • Relevant experience in a similar role at a senior level
  • Experienced knowledge of production content making, broadcasting, and the programme production cycle is essential
  • Extensive experience in budgeting, cash flow, cost analysis, and commercial rights negotiations. Must demonstrate ability in numeracy and commercial acumen
  • Experience and practical knowledge of local and international tax credits and production incentives an advantage
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and Unions & Guilds i.e., Ofcom, Equity, PACT, WGGB, etc.
  • Knowledge of production obligations including but not limited to, Production Insurance, Health & Safety, COVID/risk management production requirements, and Duty of Care
  • Excellent strategic communication and negotiation skills. Must be confident working with other departments at all levels
  • Strong IT Skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Movie Magic, and Outlook and the ability to quickly pick up new systems & stringent attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative, think differently, and with excellent problem-solving skill.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to follow directions for the benefit of the department and the wider team
  • Energy and a desire for departmental success over individual ambition

  • Vast experience in production or broadcasting, preferably in both non-scripted and scripted Production
