Job Description


The Earthshot Prize (TEP) seeks to hire Senior Programme Manager as a maternity cover for 10 months, beginning ideally in mid-June. This role is hybrid, and is based in London. Youxe2x80x99ll ensure partners deliver their contributions, timelines are met, key learnings are captured, data is well-managed, and final decisions are communicated transparently. You will lead the 2026 Earthshot Prize selection process.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project management of the prize process, from nominations closing to the selection of winners including managing timelines, dependencies, key stage gates.
  • Interface between Search and Selection Committee and external assessment partners, ensuring there is sufficient intelligence about nominees to be able to determine their potential to be finalists.
  • Management and production of documentation required for decisions during the prize process, including dossiers on nominees, and recording of decisions made during the process.
  • Project management for partnership projects. This includes projects that identify appropriate nominees in our database by confirming diligence needs and management of timeline. This also includes projects to run open calls for nominees in certain sectors with specific partners.
  • Monitoring and evaluation for the prize and impact partnership selection processes, recommending ongoing learnings/iterations for design.
  • Develop, operationalize, and maintain processes and best practices for the prize selection process including but not limited to identification of ways to improve our assessments, enhancing experience of nominees, and harnessing the power of data and AI tools.
CANDIDATE CRITERIA
  • Experience building, leading, and delivering complex programmes that ideally have included managing assessments of some kind, and managing a pipeline of hundreds of entities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Experience with platforms and tools for programme and data management, and presentation of summarised assessments for the highly experienced people to utilise in their judgements.
  • You will be a self-starter, cherishing the opportunity to experiment and learn, keen to work with colleagues to jointly solve challenges. You will also be resilient, flexible, kind, and able to operate in a rapidly changing start-up environment in this developing organisation.
  • Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree, ideally in Engineering, Science, or Business and 7+ years of experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience of the innovation sector (such as working for or supporting start-ups, or working in an innovation unit) and understanding of sustainability and environment topics are important.

  • 4-day working-week - The Earthshot Prize is currently taking part in 4 day working week trial, with positive results. In the 4-day week we focus on 100% of the productivity, 80% of the time, for 100% of the compensation.

This role is an exciting opportunity to facilitate that process, working with our Search and Selection Committee and Prize Council. You will engage with nominees, expert reviewers, and assessment contractors to ensure significant evaluation of nominees is available for the committee and council. This role requires an organised, discreet, diligent and self-starting manager with great communication skills.In parallel, this role will support two expansions of our work. Firstly, we will work with partners to identify new candidates for The Earthshot Prize through open calls. Secondly, we are establishing new selection processes beyond selecting our finalists, which will identify high-potential innovators that partners and our Launchpad initiative can help to scale.
