As the Power BI Champion and Project Controls Specialist for a circa 1.5Bn Heathrow H7 Framework within Mace's Infrastructure Business Unit, you will play a dual role in driving digital reporting excellence and supporting core project controls functions. You will lead the development and adoption of Power BI solutions while also supporting the current Project Controls Lead with monthly reporting, performance and productivity metrics, and data governance across the programme.

This role is central to enabling data-driven decision-making, ensuring robust project controls, and delivering high-quality insights to both internal teams and client stakeholders.

You'll be responsible for:

Power BI Development and Delivery: Design, build, and maintain dynamic Power BI dashboards tailored to Heathrow framework reporting needs (e.g., programme performance, risk, cost, and resource data). Integrate data from multiple sources including Primavera P6, CEMAR, SharePoint, and Excel to create unified reporting views. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and governance of data models and visualisations. Project Controls Support: Support the planning and controls team with schedule analysis, earned value reporting, and performance tracking. Assist in the development and maintenance of programme controls processes and tools. Collaborate with commercial and delivery teams to ensure alignment between cost, schedule, and risk data. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with planning, commercial, delivery, and client teams to understand reporting and controls requirements. Present dashboards and insights to senior stakeholders, adapting communication style to technical and non-technical audiences. Training and Enablement: Upskill project teams and workstream leads in Power BI usage through workshops, one-to-one coaching, and documentation. Promote self-service analytics and empower users to explore data independently. Digital Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Champion the use of Power BI and Microsoft 365 tools to streamline reporting and reduce manual effort. Identify opportunities to automate data flows and improve reporting efficiency across the framework. Stay abreast of Power BI updates and emerging technologies, recommending enhancements where appropriate. Community and Collaboration: Act as a key member of the infrastructure BI and project controls communities of practice. Share learnings, templates, and best practices across other frameworks and programmes within Mace.

You'll need to have:

Strong experience developing Power BI dashboards in a project or programme environment. Proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and data modelling. Solid understanding of project controls principles including planning, cost, and performance management. Familiarity with construction or infrastructure project data. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Experience working on major frameworks or programmes (e.g., Heathrow, HS2, TfL). Knowledge of Primavera P6, CEMAR, or other project controls systems. Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or SharePoint integration. Degree or equivalent experience in project controls, data analytics, engineering, or related field. Microsoft Power BI certification (preferred).

What we offer:

Opportunity to shape digital reporting and controls across one of the UK's most high-profile infrastructure programmes. Collaborative and forward-thinking team environment. Access to cutting-edge tools and professional development support. A chance to contribute to Mace's digital transformation journey.

Mace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates. Even if you feel you do not fulfil all of the criteria, please apply as you may still be the best candidate for this role or another role within our organisation.

We are also open to discussing part time, flexible, and hybrid working options if suitable within the role.
