Senior Project Engineer

Core Velocity Solutions is a London-based engineering and project delivery company providing front-end and detailed design, procurement, construction support, and programme management services across the hydrocarbons and energy-transition sectors.

Role Description

We are seeking a

Senior Project Engineer

with solid multi-discipline engineering experience to join our expanding Project Engineering group.

Your initial assignment will involve working closely with our Inside Sales team to support the pursuit of a major LNG detailed design opportunity. This activity is expected to span up to 12 months. Following this, you will transition into the Project Engineering team and be deployed on live projects.

The Inside Sales phase will require a strong understanding of the commercial and technical aspects of bid development. You will collaborate with various internal teams--including operations, subject matter experts, legal, finance, compliance, commercial, and risk. This exposure offers valuable insight for those aspiring to future leadership roles in engineering and project management. Success in this role requires excellent organisation, the ability to perform under time pressure, strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel-based analysis.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Supporting the Engineering Manager in developing project design bases, philosophies, key technical studies, emerging technologies, and value-improvement initiatives. Understanding project contract terms and scopes, communicating requirements clearly to engineering teams, and ensuring engineering activities align with contractual obligations. Preparing, managing, and maintaining the project design basis document, coordinating multi-discipline input throughout. Working with discipline leads to ensure readiness for project stage-gate reviews. Promoting Core Velocity Solutions' structured execution approach, ensuring effective sequencing of engineering deliverables across disciplines. Assisting Project Controls with schedule development and helping resolve cross-discipline interface issues. Supporting the preparation and consolidation of ITT packages, ensuring high-quality outputs through engagement with key stakeholders. Facilitating project workshops covering lessons learned, risk management, and discipline-specific topics. Staying current with the company's digital tools and initiatives, supporting their deployment across projects. Contributing to the company's project start-up processes and ensuring timely adherence to required steps.

Key Attributes / Skills

Proven experience delivering multiple projects as a Project Engineer across various stages such as FEED and detailed design. Strong background in preparing scoping documents with inputs from multiple disciplines. Effective collaborator with strong communication skills for both internal teams and external stakeholders. Flexible and adaptable, able to manage shifting priorities while delivering high-quality work to deadlines. Skilled at supporting clients, handling conflicting priorities, and navigating sensitive or complex issues. Experience working with clients in lump-sum or change-management-focused environments. Broad engineering or project services experience within the oil, gas, or energy industries. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Microsoft Project.

Qualifications

Degree in a major engineering discipline or equivalent. Chartered or professionally accredited status (or working toward equivalent recognition).

Pay: 65,800.00-82,450.00 per year
