Overview:



Kent Business College is seeking an experienced and passionate

Senior Project Management Apprenticeship Coach

to lead the delivery of our

Level 4 Associate Project Manager

and

Level 6 Project Controls Professional

apprenticeship programmes. The role involves guiding and supporting apprentices in achieving their qualifications while embedding real-world project management practices and professional standards such as

APM, PMI, and ChPP

. You will also mentor junior coaches and contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:Learner Support and Coaching:



Deliver engaging and effective 1:1 and group coaching sessions (virtually and occasionally in-person). Support apprentices in developing their knowledge, skills, and behaviours (KSBs) in line with apprenticeship standards. Provide guidance on evidence collection, reflective practice, and portfolio development. Monitor and review learner progress through regular progress reviews and Skills Radar assessments. Prepare apprentices for Gateway and End-Point Assessment (EPA), including mock interviews, project support, and professional discussions. Deliver training aligned to industry qualifications (e.g., APM PMQ, PMI-SP, Risk Management, EVM).

Programme and Curriculum Development:



Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of apprenticeship programmes and delivery materials. Align training content to APM Body of Knowledge, PMI standards, and the Institute for Apprenticeships (IfATE) framework. Integrate real-world case studies and tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Power BI, or Jira into coaching and delivery.

Quality and Compliance:



Ensure delivery meets Ofsted, ESFA, and internal quality standards. Maintain accurate records of learner engagement, feedback, and achievements using the e-portfolio system (e.g., APTEM). Support internal quality assurance processes, standardisation, and external audits. Embed safeguarding, Prevent Duty, equality, and diversity into all coaching practices.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:



Mentor and support junior project management coaches and tutors. Lead on curriculum planning, delivery schedules, and assessment strategies. Attend and contribute to team meetings, CPD sessions, and standardisation workshops. Act as a subject matter expert in project management and lead internal workshops or masterclasses.

Essential Requirements:



Significant experience in managing complex projects or programmes (ideally 5+ years). Experience in apprenticeship coaching, teaching, or mentoring within a project management environment. Recognised project management qualification (e.g., APM PMQ, PMP, PRINCE2, MSP). Teaching or assessing qualification (e.g., CAVA, AET, PGCE, or working towards). Up-to-date knowledge of apprenticeship standards and funding rules (particularly Level 4 & 6). Ability to coach and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Competence in using digital tools (MS Teams, e-portfolio platforms, project planning software).

Desirable:



Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) or Incorporated Cost Engineer status. Experience with APM, PMI, or APMG-endorsed certifications and delivery. Experience in developing EPA portfolios and preparing apprentices for assessment. Familiarity with compliance audits (ESFA, Ofsted) and curriculum inspection frameworks.

Pay: 30,000.00-40,000.00 per year
