Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager for a full-time position in support of our Yorkshire Water Contract. The SPM will manage a defined team of APMs and PMs, requiring strong line management skills to effectively lead a small group. Responsibilities include ownership of challenging projects with commercial, financial, or H&S risks, and applying substantial senior project management experience to resolve delivery issues decisively. The role involves supporting customers with new initiatives, driving opportunities, and maintaining trusted advisory relationships while ensuring confidence in our delivery model.

What you will be doing

Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and wastewater division stakeholders. Communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms. Provide clear instructions and consistent delivery to inspire confidence. Lead localised reporting by preparing and planning concise reports for projects within your area. Collaborate with the Head of Capital Works to ensure efficient resource allocation for successful project delivery. Coordinate with the commercial team on tenders and proposals, ensuring alignment with governance processes. Secure new sales to support the annual financial plan. Ensure all projects comply with contracts, statutory regulations, SHEQ requirements, and industry standards. Support the business through effective communication in meetings, briefings, reporting, and other forums. Foster strong partnerships with suppliers to drive innovation for customers.

Strong influencing and negotiation skills Present with assurance and confidence Understand commercial and financial metrics Internal and external customer management Knowledge of the construction market Project management methodology Broad understanding of construction Health and Safety law and legislation Understanding of general financial terminology Previous project management experience in a senior capacity, either an M&E, FM ,construction or critical environment Previous experience of proven line management responsibility Able to travel to meet the needs of the role requires
